1. The Foundation: Citroën clubs worldwide

By definition in our statutes, all Citroën- and Citroën-related clubs and organisations around the world are automatically Members of the ACI, provided they are non-commercial, non-profit-oriented.

2. National ACI delegates: The club's representatives

2.1. Election of ACI delegates

Per country, all clubs decide on their country delegates to act as their speakers towards the ACI and the national Citroën delegates. Our current model foresees 2 ACI delegates per country or region.

With respect to each national or regional setup, the ACI leaves it up to the clubs on how their delegates are being chosen. Taking over the international ACI procedures, a national process could look like follows:

A national ACI assembly is being held (eg. once per year). 2 representatives from each club or organisation are invited to vote for the 2 national ACI delegates once per year. The elections could also be performed by (public) email or letters.

In some countries there might be an existing club network or association which could also initiate or organise such a voting process to determine the national ACI delegates - but we also ask you to invite each club in that country to the election process i.e. also those ones which are not part of that network.

As by definition in our ACI statutes, representatives of Citroën or its national affiliates are not allowed to vote for the national delegates or take over a function in the ACI - although we recommend to invite your national Citroën contacts to join your local national assembly on a regular basis.

2.2. Role of national ACI delegates

A primary task for the delegates is to act as the interface between the national clubs and the ACI board, as well as to the national Citroën affiliate (or branch, or importer). They are invited to the international ACI Annual General Meeeting (AGM) and take part in the voting for the ACI board and other decisions of the international ACI agenda.

As the international language of ACI is English, national delegates should be able to speak and read English. An email address is mandatory for national delegates as our primary means of communications is via E-Mail.

A very important duty is to spread the information given by the ACI board or the manufacturer (resp. its national affiliate) to the clubs. Communications is one of the cornerstones to keep the ACI network strong - and delegates are a vital element in it!

Also vice versa, it is the duty of the national delegates to submit requests or applications to the ACI, eg. when deciding for important events in the ACI calendar, the task of the delegates is to submit this request in the Annual General Meeting.

Is the information flow insufficient, e.g. a club does not get informed about proceedings and latest news etc., please contact the responsible ACI delegate first and also the national Citroen affiliate to solve this problem. In case the communication flow continues to be inadequate and more than 3 clubs are affected, please inform the ACI board (see contact page) accordingly. We will help you solving this problem by sending out information to the clubs of that country directly until the next General Meeting where this issue then will be included into the meeting agenda.

3. The ACI General Meeting

At least held once per year, the General Meeting is the highest level of decisiontaking within the ACI. By tradition, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) is being held during Retromobile at Paris in February each year. Additional General Meetings might take place - such as during an ICCCR like last time in Interlaken/CH. The ACI delegates decide on several topics and also elect the ACI board for another 12 months.

4. The ACI Board

Acting in the name of the General Meeting, the ACI Board meets around 2 times per year or more often (in 2004, it was 7 times) and takes up latest decisions. The Board acts as the main interface towards Automobiles Citroën headquarters in Paris, mainly towards the Communications department - also in translating requests from clubs resp. their delegates.

The current list of ACI board members can be found here.

5. Completing the picture: ACI Honorary Members

Individuals who have contributed a lot to the goals and statutes of ACI can be nominated as Honorary Members. They may participate at each meeting but may not vote as long as they are not elected country delegates.

Please check with our section "Honorary Members" about the current list.
